The Art of True Healing: The Unlimited Power of Prayer and Visualization
The Art of True Healing: The Unlimited Power of Prayer and Visualization

Centering around a very powerful meditation exercise called the Middle Pillar, through which one can stimulate body, mind, and spirit all together, The Art of True Healing teaches readers to focus energy in a variety of ways for improving their health, success, and ability to help others. In 1932, long before it was trendy or even acceptable to say so, Dr. Israel Regardie wrote a book that linked prayer and meditation to healing. Sixty-five years later his book has been reprinted and repackaged. Thankfully, though, Regardie’s original voice remains unaltered. At face value, this is an instruction book, detailing a specific meditation practice that integrates the awareness of yoga’s chakras with the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life to present a daily tool for healing. The lesser-known value, however, is that this is a highly readable book that boldly explores what many healers are only now willing to say.

5 Stars The Art of True Healing
I just recently got a hold of this slim but potent text. It appears that Regardie is wanting to present the most vital aspects of the Middle Pillar form of meditation, which links up with true healing of body, mind, and soul. The text unfolds gently, encouraging you to practice various psycho-physical exercises that relate to activating the Chakras. I believe there is a great deal of thought and wisdom here to assist anyone in claiming a state of higher consciousness and prosperity in his life.
1 Stars Abridged version
This latest paperback edition is a little disappointing. I’m familiar with the original classic by Dr. Regardie, and when I received a copy of this version, I was astonished by the degree of editing. Whole blocks of text have been omitted, some parts have been rearranged and even rewritten, and - most questionable - the direction of the circulation of light has been reversed in the second step (back to front vs. front to back). I’m sure Mr. Allen means well with his editing, but perhaps he should consider changing the title of this edition to something more descriptive of this diluted version, since it only vaguely resembles the original. The exercises offered by Dr. Regardie back in the 30’s were - and still are - invaluable as useful and effective spiritual exercises. If you’re interested in the full experience of Dr. Regardie’s intention, try to find a copy of the original and skip this crippled and watered-down version. For an unabridged version, look for Foundations of Practical Magic: An Introduction to Qabalistic, Magical and Meditative Techniques by Israel Regardie.
4 Stars Art of True Healing
I think this book is very good. I have been meditating for almost 40 years, and this book, rather than presenting a conflicting approach, presents an amplification of what I’ve been doing. I found the first chapters lacking in their effort to establish a relationship between metaphysical logic and the physical experience in meditation. I don’t know if this disconnect existed in the original 1933 manuscript, or is a consequence of editing in the current edition. Once the book gets into a description of the basic meditation, however, it is sure footed. The logic, spiritual tolerance, and testing ground of what is experienced by the senses are securely connected. The book is an invitation to experiment and decide for yourself. In this hard sell world, that is a rare confidence.
4 Stars A middle pillar exercise
This short book gives one variation of middle pillar exercise
(similar as one explained in The Middle Pillar book) used as
creative visualization for wish realization and some theory
based on K.G.Yung psychology.
